My name is Sarah Haywood, and I am a Doctoral of occupational Therapy (OTD) student at Methodist University. I am truly grateful and excited to share my journey, experiences, and insights with you.
Together, we can explore the fascinating world of occupational therapy and my passion for advocating for meaningful and equitable participation for children, families, and underserved communities. everyone deserves the opportunity to grow in a safe and supported environment and achieve their fullest potential.

Introduction
Aspiring occupational therapist with a background in kinesiology and exercise science, that provided a strong foundation in human movement, rehabilitation, and health promotion. Strengthening my commitment to promote meaningful and equitable participation, engagement, and functional independence for all children, families, and underserved communities.
My professional identity is grounded in compassion, advocacy, and evidence-based practice; supporting individuals who experience barriers related to trauma exposure, developmental disruptions, and environmental instability. Driven by a deep passion for serving underserved populations and children, promoting occupational justice, and empowering individuals in marginalized systems.
As I continue my professional development, I remain committed to advocating for populations who have historically been overlooked. By contributing to efforts that expand access, equity, and trauma-informed services to clinical and non-traditional occupational therapy settings.

Here, you will find a collection of my clinical preparation, academic achievements, professional growth, leadership involvement, and passion for promoting systemic change while evolving the identity of OT as a future practitioner. As I enter Level II Fieldwork, I will continue to grow, refine my areas of interest, and transition into a licensed OT practitioner by Demonstrating my dedication to evidence-based practice, client-centered care, trauma-informed care approaches, advocacy, and community service.
